As a result of our work with the Schenectady Foundation on our community pavilion, the church was asked to work with ONE Schenectady as part of their first Creative Changemakers Circle. This group is a collection of Schenectady residents looking to channel their ideas for positive change in the community into action, and to create a plan, process, and resources for supporting future changemakers.

The change ideas to which this group is committed are all neighborhood and community-related, conceived of and executed by normal, everyday people like you and I. The projects are intentionally very focused on specific and focused outcomes, much like our community pavilion.

Pastor Liz and Joe have met with their group for several months now, building networks, sharing ideas and resources, and teaching each other how to communicate a vision, break down the barriers to achieving the vision, and building sustainable practices to make further change easier.

On May 14, all the participants will gather at the Stockade Inn to present our ideas and challenges to a group of potential partners from local community organizations and businesses. The purpose will be to get commitments from people who can help all of us bring our projects across the finish line.
